OFF Coffees are open, face-to-face meetings
that discuss the urgent need to regain control
of digital technology and reclaim screen-free spaces
An OFF Coffee is not a conference or a class. It is an opportunity for people to turn off their mobile phones for a while and share their thoughts, concerns and experiences about the impact of digital technology on our daily lives.
At OFF Coffees, community is built, upcoming actions of the Movement are discussed,
and the focus is on taking action.
The debates that arise here are not improvised: they often become the seeds of concrete initiatives that we later take to the public sphere.
Q&A
What are we aiming for?
To create local communities that foster synergies between people concerned about the most harmful implications of uncontrolled digitalisation and hyperconnection. To recover listening and mindful attention. To generate proposals and initiatives that strengthen the OFF Movement.
How does it work?
Switch off your phone and come to talk. It begins with a brief introduction about OFF and then the conversation flows. Share ideas, testimonies, and proposals.
Who can organise an OFF Coffee?
Anyone who has signed one of the OFF initiatives and wishes to be part of the conversation. OFF provides basic materials (a guide to open the meeting, posters, optional activities) to make it easier.
Why take part?
Because the collective is stronger than the individual. Because sharing without screens reminds us that the human element remains irreplaceable. An OFF Coffee is a small act of resistance against technological acceleration, an analogue pause for encounter.
