Citizen Rallies
The OFF Movement aims to activate society beyond screens. That is why we organise rallies in different cities, defending the principles that drive us in the public space, such as the right of minors to digital disconnection.
These mobilisations are an essential part of our identity: collective, non-partisan and open to all who share the urgency to move from reflection to action.
7 JUNE 2025: RIGHT TO DIGITAL DISCONNECTION
Let's protect the health of minors
On 7 June 2025, we held the first major OFF national rally, with simultaneous actions in 12 cities across Spain.
DEMANDS
01
Prohibition of minors' access to social media.
02
A minimum legal age for smartphone use.
03
Digital de-escalation in schools.
04
Training for families, teachers and students on the risks of hyperconnection.
05
Limitation of screen time according to medical recommendations.
This was just the beginning of an annual event that will continue to grow, because defending children means defending the future of society as a whole.
WHY DID WE GATHER?
On Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m., we will gather in simultaneous demonstrations across different cities in Spain. We are gathering because we see how the physical, emotional, and cognitive health of children is deteriorating due to the indiscriminate use of digital devices. As parents, teachers, health and education professionals, and citizens, we can no longer look the other way while discomfort, anxiety, sleep disorders, addiction, and disconnection from the real world continue to grow. We believe in a childhood that plays, connects, sparks creativity, and learns without being subjected to the logic of likes, immediacy, or overstimulation. Our concerns are varied, but they are united by a common purpose: to urge public authorities to prioritize health above all other interests — ultimately, to do what is truly best for children. This gathering is not driven by partisan interests or private agendas. Whatever your ideas, background, faith, or age — whether you are a son, mother, father, grandparent, teacher, school principal, or simply a citizen concerned about the future of today’s children, who will be tomorrow’s adults — the time has come to build bridges and raise our voices for childhood and for the future of our society. The Madrid gathering will take place at Plaza Murillo, at the entrance to the Botanical Garden, facing Paseo del Prado. We will meet there, as in many other cities across the country, to calmly demand a change that puts children at the center.
