STICK OFF

TURN THE CITY INTO A CONVERSATION

Stick OFF is a collaborative campaign that invites us to rethink our relationship with digital technology.

It is a decentralised action, open to all, which aims to fill the streets of the whole world with thousands of posters. Stick OFF consists of truly posting, in the public space, instead of on social media.

Each poster is a spark to ignite the debate about the place we collectively want technology to occupy in our lives.

WHY "STICK OFF"

Paris, trocadero.HEIC

We live surrounded by technologies designed to be addictive. Technological giants call them sticky products: products designed to hook you and not be able to abandon them easily, like chewing gum stuck to the sole of a shoe.

Services that end up stealing our time and attention, and condition our lives.

STICK OFF proposes the opposite: to take off. Recover the ability to choose when and what to connect to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate ?

Anyone. Your age, profession or city don't matter. STICK OFF is an open, global and collaborative campaign.

Do I have to place the posters in a specific place?

No. We encourage you to choose a visible and representative place in your city: a community board, the street lamp of a busy square, a university, a cultural centre, a neighbourhood space or any point where the message can generate conversation.

Is it illegal to stick the posters ?

Always respect local regulations. Prioritise spaces enabled for billboards, bulletin boards or places where this type of intervention is allowed.

How many posters do I have to place ?

We recommend printing between 3 and 4 posters and placing them together, following the order of the design so that the message is understood correctly.

Do I have to print them in a specific size?

We recommend printing them in A4 in black and white and then fold them in the middle; you can look at the directions in the detailed guide.

Can I translate the posters ?

Yes. If your language is not yet available, write to us and we will prepare a translated version for you to participate.

Can I adapt the design or change the messages?

We prefer that you use the original designs so that the campaign maintains a common identity in all cities, but if you come up with new messages, write to us. If you have children and they want to make a collage with these messages, we will love it :)

What do I have to do after placing the posters?

Take one or more photos of the intervention and send them to stick-off@offm.org. If you want, you can also share them on your social networks.

Can I participate in a group?

Yes. It is easier to be 2 or 3 people to be able to stick the posters more comfortably. You can organise the intervention with friends, co-workers, students, associations, educational centres or any group.

Do I have to do it now?

Not necessarily. You can participate whenever you want. Although, if you are going to travel this summer, it is a good opportunity to do tourism with purpose and take the conversation to another city.

What is the goal behind Stick OFF?

Open a public conversation about the place we want digital technology to occupy in our lives.

Any more questions? You can write to us at contact@offm.org

We’re on (a few) social media platforms… only to help you get off them.
